The Lotus in the Marsh
I see the world around me
Shifting from origin,
Natures and actions of people
Deviating astray with no precision.
Yet, among the chaos I seek and find,
The one soul who I thought I could easily leave behind.
Her eyes sparkling with love, and her heart, oh so kind,
She lifts me up with her energy, her voice revitalising my mind.
She creates a symphony guided just by her presence.
In any flock she goes, she becomes its essence.
No matter where she in person may be,
She will shower those she adores,
With an unconditional kind of love, caressingly,
Like the ocean kisses the shores.
They say expectations are a killer to love,
But, when the love is unconditional,
Expectations and love, walk shoulder to shoulder,
Their worth one and the same, interchangeable.
For a mother’s love readily exerts limitless care and endless infatuation,
And all she expects in return,
Is her offspring’s safety, happiness and some compassion.
Though, there are times, when she falls, she feels unloved,
And forgets the Halo above her head,
And all she aspires is to be a beloved,
It’s an inward cry to be close and surrounded,
By those she relentlessly prays for, to be safe, and sound, and happily contented.
So I write this message
As my way of expressing my perception of you.
Spoken words always fall short of what I intend to say,
Hoping this song gives my feelings justice, and shows we know you and want to cherish you.
Now and always...
Lest you forget...
