On
your departure
rain fallen in sheets
as if the whole sky weep!

Even tricolor's eyes filled with tears on 15th of August yesterday!

Bharatmata bereaved your departure
And dismissal of her son and the songster....

You are the epitome of style
You are the Bharatratna of this soil!

Your departure, a transitory thing
Your poetry, the fountain of perpetuality...
