The Tap
Some say
She left the tap
Running
Because she was
Hurtling
Head first
Into a tumble of
Life
Some say she did it
To drown out the sound
Of all her ideas
As they spilled
From her pores
And dripped as tears
Forming puddles
Of what might be
Others say she did it
Because
Of the worry
And the strain
And very pain
Of a troubled
Existence
Where everything
Was something
Of nothing
And she couldn't find
A handle
To turn such things
Off
Whatever and however
She did leave
The tap running
Pouring
Flooding
And disappearing
Down the cracks
Along with
Her dreams
If only
Things hadn't
Worked out
The way
They always
Did
Things might have
Been different
There might have been
Thunder
And she might
Not have
Drowned

Might not, couldn't, and shouldn't.....regrets are miserable. Changes can always be done. Tap can be turned closed.
Nice thought.
