Delusions.
I dreamt of delusions
That sufficed my ideologies
Of who I was
What my life would be
How I'd look in the mirror
The reality of today appears
Somewhat different
From where I'm standing
In these size five feet
That haven't grown an inch
Since I was fifteen.
I still dream of delusions
That suffice my ideologies
Of who I am
What my life will be.

I think this is great. It highlights a profound idea, with calculated brevity and a pointed wrap-around repetition for superb emphasis on 'hope forever' or 'sheer idiocy', whichever the reader chooses.
