Virus
The virus
An illness we knew nowt about
The news was all on china.
A flu like symptom miles away
We all assumed was minor.
It spread to every country.
The news was close to home.
Cases doubled daily
Death tolls sadly rose
Panic buying started.
Nothing left on shelves.
Selfish greedy bastards
Thinking of themselves
Every shop was emptied
Every shelf left bare
What about the vulnerable
Share it out be fair
People have to stay at home
Time to cap the spread
Worries hit an all time low
Businesses now dead
Schools have ended
Lock down starts
An eerie feeling
Worlds apart
Streets are empty
Groups are parted
We finish those jobs
We forgot we started
Nurses working round the clock
Drivers out non stop
Friends and neighbours rally round
So no one is forgot
Sadness lingers everywhere
No one wants to grieve
So please just stay at home through this
And Let this virus leave.
