The Pint-sized Play Wot You Wrote
Do you have aspirations to be the Shakespeare of the 21st Century? ... or maybe even the next Ernie Wise? Well – here’s your chance, because the 2010 Pint-sized Plays Competition is waiting for your masterpiece.
Now in its third year, the Pint-sized Play Competition is looking for ten winners, whose plays will all be performed in Pembrokeshire pubs, from September onwards. All of the entries will be judged by theatre director Phil Clark, and the winning ten will not only be performed, but are also automatically entered into the Script Slam to be held at Theatr Gwaun in Fishguard on Saturday, 9th October, where the audience vote for their favourite script and the winner picks up the coveted Pint-Pot trophy, with the Half-Pint Pot going to the runner-up. Selected plays may also be recorded and broadcast on internet radio.
Scripts should have a running time of between five and ten minutes, have two or three characters, and be capable of being staged in a pub using only the available furniture and minimal props. Your play can be on any theme but should bear in mind the audience, an d there is an entry fee of £5 per script.
The closing date is 30th June, 2010, and the winners will be announced in early August.
