... and where is your God?

entry picture

A tumour on the brain
steals a life, unformed and pure,
a child,
so please don't tell me there is a God
for I would ask you and where is your God
when the innocent are tortured and slain
in his unholy and despicable name?
I would ask you again and again and again
where is your God,
that is neither holy nor loving
but empty, remorseless and vain.
There goes your God
that is nothing but a vacuous and shameful name
to hang upon the evils that you and men do
again and again and again.
Your unforgiving cruel God
is on your side
forever to take your blame
and forgive your sins and the evil that you do
in his Almighty name.

Strong, relevant, and expressing with consummate poetical skill the thought of many. It is really wonderful to have you back again.

Thanks Stef, it wasn't my intention to offend anyone who believes, merely to ask the question that, for me at least, has only one answer. Your comments always appreciated. I haven't lurked on WOL for a while and it's good to be back :)

Excellent poem Wytch.I think the bulk of it might be answered by asking is this not all the REAL test of faith? thanks-Stefan.
