Broken Hearts Need Glue
Inside her there was something much too broken to heal
So she hid herself from the world
In order to not to be disturbed from her independent composure.
She feels the ache
It's a familiar sort of pain
One that was inflicted with full knowledge of the outcome.
Her heart bleeds out in the waiting
Only expecting the worse
She'll run away again
Pretending that this was the plan all along
But she knew
She will fall and it will burn.
This is why people aren't allowed in.
Even if she wasn't so set in her solitary ways still she could not tell a soul.
Words flee from her mouth,
Unable to speak of what goes on in her brain.
This results in the constant need to express herself through descriptive imagery.
Endlessly, words flow from the heart of the creator, like an emotional rollercoaster that never ends.
How difficult it is to breathe once you become immersed in your own thoughts.
Behind closed doors you'll never see the mess she's made.
Once in a while she shows her face to the sun
Not yet healed but steady enough.
A hand reaches out
Pulling her from her deepest pit of worry
Whether that hand be of good nature or imminent heartbreak
She takes it
An opportunity to love
To find the good in a lonely soul
And glue together the missing pieces.
Though she takes pride in her freedom
Longing never ceases.
She'd never let love ruin her
But for love
She'd ruin herself.
