They Ride Together
She rides the chestnut stallion
Along the golden beach,
His heart thumping as he waits
For her to come in reach.
With butterflies in her stomach,
She dismounts, releasing the reins.
They fall into each other’s arms,
Blood pumping through their veins.
Their lips meet with a passion,
An ecstasy of longing.
Together they experience
A strange sense of belonging.
One kiss leads to another,
At last they come up for air.
“Hi again,” they say as one
Then laugh without a care.
They take the horse back together,
It’s the end of her working day.
She runs her father’s riding stables,
He learns along the way.
He rides the chestnut stallion
Through the scented park,
Amidst the lilac blossoms,
The old oak’s gnarled bark.
He seems to have a gift for it,
She claps her hands in appraisal.
They ride together through avenues
Of horse chestnut and hazel.
Onlookers stop to watch them pass,
What a picture they must be making!
A warm summer’s evening ahead
Miraculously theirs for the taking.
Eating in a restaurant,
They talk throughout their meal.
They both insist on paying
But it’s really no big deal.
Skinny dipping and giggling,
As they enjoy a sunset swim.
While the waves crash and soar
She falls in love with him.
He catches her up in his arms
And carries her to shore,
Lays her down upon the sand,
Her body to explore.
Soon at one with the busy waves,
They thrash and soar in time
On the otherwise deserted beach
Young love in its prime.
Gently at first then faster,
Deep kissing in pure glee
Oh, such sweet satisfaction!
Reaching heights of ecstasy.

With apologies to Stefan's heart, but I never said there'd be a bedroom scene!!!
