It is not because you were too weak,

It is because your heart was too big and that is why it hurt so deep.

It is not because you weren't beautiful,

It is because they refused to see that beauty.

It is not because you weren't worthy,

It is because they weren't worthy of you.

It is not because you didn't deserve the love,

It is because the love came with an embedded hatred.

It is not because you were in the wrong,

It is because they chose to see only the wrong in you.

Because being up that high on the mountain also means everyone on the ground can see you clearly,

And they tend to see only the flaws and imperfections, and will not hesitate to cast a stone.

It is not that you were alone,

It just that you were carrying the pain alone.

And as another day comes with the rising sun,

I come again to the realization that you are no longer here with me.

That the burdens of this world were too heavy for your shoulders.
