A Game Of Pool (part 2)
A Game Of Pool (part 2)
Whatever game it was, that the yokels were playing
It wasn’t a conventional game of pool
The black ball had long since gone down
And they just seemed to be smacking the balls around the table
Any old how
When a ball went down
Be it a spot or a stripe
They gave out a large cheer
When one missed
Or they ballsed up the shot
It was accompanied by laughter
There was more laughter than cheering
One
A big fat lad
With a ruddy face and ginger hair
Seemed to be in charge
He wore green moleskin trousers
And a Harris Tweed weskit
The deerstalker hat
Plonked, unceremoniously on the hat stand
Was of the same Harris Tweed
And must have been his too
The second yokel was obviously his brother
For they looked so alike
Same ruddy complexion and ginger hair
Though he was younger
And a lot slimmer
He too wore green moleskin trousers
But being the style icon that he was
He’d accompanied them with red bracers
The third was cut from different cloth altogether
An older man
Tall and skinny
Almost skeletal
With mutton chop sideburns
Which failed to hide his sunken cheeks
He wore jeans
His ill-fitting trainers seemed to be two sizes too big
Giving him an ungainly, crane-like gait
More laughter
Then a cheer
As the last ball went down
And Fat-boy declared himself the winner

Hehe I love this poem, KJ Walker and also Lisa's comment! What a great visual and observation of a very entertaining pool game, with equally as entertaining pool players! ?
Keep writing and smiling.
Best wishes,
Rasa
