Ropes of Velvet

A flash like a thunderbolt with magnetic consequences caught me

When your almond shaped eyes gazed into mine, I was hooked

With our vision locked in union I passed through your visual portal

Your hazel circle bid me welcome as I passed through

I could hear a hypnotic rhythm that hooked me like a fish

There was its source of the harmony, cradled on a velvet cushion

Side by side lay your heart and soul purring like a kitten

I immediately felt a secure blanket of warmth being drape around me

A sense of belonging filled me as I set sail on the sea of tranquillity

A summer breeze blew towards who knows where, a new love dawn!

The heart shaped sun radiated love as it rose, puncturing the horizon

This rose tinted orb looked somewhat familiar, yes it was my heart

I grasped the telescope to look closer and could see you

Ropes of velvet were being thrown over my heart, which purred

My love was being captured by you, could I or did I want to resist?

As the ropes secured, down each side a rose laden fence was created

Totally enraptured, captured I snuggled next to you on velvet cushion

Two hearts beating as one, two souls linked for who knows how long?

Boarded a plane to who knows where, revelling in uncertainty

You and I placing our faith, our love into our flight to happiness

The not knowing, the lack of a flight plan gave us a buzz of anticipation

We looked at the sky as it raced beneath, looked at other and kissed

HI, Philip

Tapestry of love life and a poet imagination; All of that I found in your write.
The poem sounds wonderful.

“”Ropes of velvet were being thrown over my heart, which purred
My love was being captured by you, could I or did I want to resist? “”

Gentle yet powerful like a thunderbolt.
Great poem!

Thank you,
Zuzanna
