Y Tuesday, Lewisham Day Festival and Short Film Movement
Hi folks,
I am appearing Y Tuesday tonight at the Three Kings Pub in Clerkenwell, Farringdon doing the old open mic. I have a slot this Saturday at the Lewisham Day festival - details here - http://www.lewisham.gov.uk /NewsAndEvents/Events/PeoplesDay/
I also have a twenty-minute slot at the Housman Bookshop, King's Cross on the 21st August. The set will be on the theme of "The Psyche". Below is a quick blurb about the Short Film Movement.
'I must Create a System, or be enslav'd by another Man's; I will not
Reason and Compare : my business is to Create.' William Blake
The Short Film Movement+
Film/ Art, Philosophy, Politics, Life & Literature
Many great short films are made and go unnoticed. Most of the time
they can be just as exhilarating and poignant as any feature. We
believe Short Films should not simply be seen as a mere tool toward
greater cinematic adventures, they are art-forms which demand to be
celebrated.
The Short Film Movement+ not only celebrates short films but also
recognise the importance of interrelating the language of film with
other art forms such as, poetry, music, dance and so forth.
The Short Film Movement+ will host regular gatherings of short films
with a political/ ethical/ social etc... nature. In essence films made
by artistic filmmakers which have messages and deal with the human
condition. Films will be screened alongside other art forms with
similar themes followed by discussions.
