Voodoo Word Circus Wants You
Calling all actors, performers with an interest in performance poetry, spoken word, dark cabaret or/and multi-media!
Auditions: Sunday 13 April, The Round, Lime St, Newcastle-upon-Tyne from 2pm.

Following on from our sell out Big Love Potion in February, Voodoo Word Circus is back!
We are looking for up and coming performers to work over 3 days (Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 June) with our Word Circus Team and a group of professional artists with a range of backgrounds and talents to create Voodoo Word Circus: a dark circus of words and unique multi-media cabaret event. Be you a performance poet, actor, musician, dancer, puppeteer, actor, comic or any type of performer - we want you for this exciting spoken word led event!!
This time the theme is Death - one of the most well - trodden subjects in literature. However, rather than looking into their personal lives, we will be looking at Death within society: the deaths of fictitious characters, martyrdom, collective grief, and so on: from death cults to the cult of death itself. From the macabre to the damn outrageous…
Leading the event once again is Ross Sutherland, The Round’s Performance Poet in Residence, member of smash hit poetry collective Aisle 16, and author of the multi-award winning poetry production Poetry Boyband “Poetry has come of age” The Guardian / “Sublimely twisted” The Scotsman).
