The tenderness of you
Put aside a kiss for me
A solid state embrace
Not just a cheek by jowl shake down brush
With someone who could not care less
That is not what I want
I want to feel the tenderness of you
Pressed against that which is mine
To push away the crushed flower tears
And stagnant powdered scent of vapid breath
I want to feel the warmth of the love
That has for so often been promised
Let me feel again the rush
Of flushed and trammelled blood
Across my cheeks
Rising from the depths from that has lain
Dormant
All but dead
So put away your words of solace
And strung out cut the quick smiles
Be not a stranger
Help unravel my tangled soul
And make me feel alive once again
Put aside your wasted semaphore crosses
Marked on infrequently sent missives
And give me the hoped-for embrace
For which I so much need
Take me in your arms again
And hold me for eternity
