The Sunlit Yard
I look at the clock upon the wall.
The minutes today seem to crawl.
Breaking the silence, a tick I hear.
But let time drag... I have no fear.
Soon it will be time for me to go.
Do I fear the Lord, I answer no.
He knows I'm an innocent man.
I'm in his prayers, part of his plan.
Footsteps I hear and turn of a key.
Right on time, they've come for me.
Into the sunlit yard, I'm led away.
The truth one day will have its say.
