House of Love

I'm glad that you walked out of that house

That House of Love,

I had believed you would never forsake

Must have felt liberating, leaving me shaken

Abandoning my warm grip to hold your own

The emotional tides that came as you left were overpowering

Left me stranded and weeping

Could reach you anytime

Had believed in our love that would stitch us close

Closer than before

You walked out of our house to never return

Kept peeping through the window to watch me suffer

Until your eyes were soar and your heart all yours

No trace of me, all yours

Finally, I saw the house aflame

Realized I was still enclosed in

I wounded myself in the process of saving what had left of me

I couldn't save my heart

Fallen inside

Among the flames

Nothing stood

You left

I had to leave without my heart

Accepting we will never build what had fallen

Still

My heart remains there

Beating loud beneath the rubbles

Beating for you
