A permanent loss of happiness
Beneath this beach of sand and shells
Such new-found-land frames and hides
Such wide horizons; I walk along the cliff:
Sheer drop upon the windward side,
Embedded trilobites, beneath my feet
Quartz and Muscovite from the granite
Weathered by the winds and waves
Sea-forms outcrops, hidden rocks, caves.
Time carves the face of all mankind
Time shears the skin, sculpts the lines around
The sinking eyes that wane unto
Extinction. Dreams, Desires, Memories
The oft-neglected holy trinity, of centuries.
