Loved

The ring on my finger

a product of all my fantasy

a gift from the universe

telling me I'm loved ... I'm just playing pretend.

A rose of silver,

cold and metallic

catching the light like a painting

a blade of refraction, it glows like the moon.

A simple circle, uncomplicated...

morphs, like a butterfly, into something else.

The gentle form of a flower

petals overlapping, reflecting light off of their silver lips.

Shadows playing,

like a kiss from God

upon my finger.

but only if I want them to feel that way.

And I do,

so that's what I see.
