The Rain
The Rain is a wonderful being
She gracfully falls upon my skin
Lessening the impact
Of feelings within my crater filled mind
Distracting meĀ
From the high-pitched sound
Of anxiety induced anxiety
She quietly whispers in my ear
Presenting a path
Where the language of empathy lies
Protecting me
From the battle scars of betrayal
Of those tasked to protect
She softly touches the depths of my soul
Picking up the glass
Of the mirror that shattered long ago
Conforting me
From the pain of confusing thoughts
Scattered all aound
The Rain is wonderful
She refills the cup
That has been empty for so long

Thanks Keith!
I just looked back on this, and I read the stanza you mentioned. I immediately felt the let side of my face tingle. I'm not saying this to brag, but to convey the emotion I felt just thinking of those three lines.
As always, I appreciate your feedback!
Thanks
Jason
