Rise Up
Rise Up
She laid on the floor begging for no more
Then his eyes filled with darkness and his fist pounded more.
She had been there before, but couldn’t walk out the door
Now here she is begging, just like before.
He promised her the best, but he’s just like the rest
Now here she is begging, hurting in distress.
She prays for better days, but it is all a haze
Now here she is begging, holding her face.
He loves making her cry, but today her eyes are dry.
Then she gets up off the floor she’s not begging anymore
She’s made up her mind, that she was so blind
He didn’t love her, he just wanted to control her mind.
He started to grin cause he thought he would win
That's the way it’s always been.
She ran to the door and didn’t look back
This is the part she has always lacked.
Now here she is so strong, he was so wrong
It didn’t take long to realize once he was gone
Now he is so haunted by her success
What she does next he can only guess
