I find myself in one of her stories

she finds it all a bit too boring

 

how it takes pages to get the setting

while she’s moved on to television

 

we’re compelled to act

nothing’s a distraction

 

then when the language hits

it creates shifts in perception

 

here we go again

another transformation

 

something we can just 

barely understand

 

as the concept wraps 

around our heads

 

again and again and again

we become too different 

 

to even ask

whatever happens next
