A UFO hovered over Knotty Ash one day.
It came to study Earthlings at work and play.
It became invisible, it didn't make the news.
It landed in silence near Knotty Ash Mews. 

From a distant world were nobody laughed.
The Aliens, one by one then left their craft.
The Aliens took to human form as planned.
And began their study of this faraway land.

They came across the Diddymen having fun.
They heard raucous laughter...tears to run!
They were puzzled by this unusual sound.
Using X Ray eyes, chuckle muscles they found!

Dicky Mint offered them a jam butty to eat.
Never had they tasted such a delicious treat!
The Aliens found themselves on Thomas Lane.
They came across a human, Doddy his name!

His appearance came as a bit of a shock.
Was he typical they thought of human stock!
They approached Doddy, his tongue they spoke.
Doddy typically replied with a laugh and a joke!

Slowly but surely all the Aliens began to smile.
Then they fell about laughing and did for a while!
And so it went on as they travelled about more.
Laughter and happiness was all the Aliens saw.

The Aliens before long, came to love this place.
And so they never took off their human face.
Soon they had chuckle muscles of their very own.
And those Aliens to this day, never went home!
