Being who you are By Louis D'Alto
The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are
Don't have to rule a kingdom, or be a superstar
Live a life that's genuine, original and true
Show the world just who you are, the one and only you
Don't try and be somebody else, that's not what God intended
That will never free your soul, the gift will be suspended
Shine the light that is yourself for all the world to see
Break the chains that bind you, set your spirit free
Everybody's different, everyone's unique
Live your life in such a way,
It's what we all must seek
It's more than just a notion, it's what we need do
No one living on this earth is quite like me or you
Variety is the spice of life, we've often heard that said
Plant the seed inside your heart then plant it in your head
Don't have to rule a kingdom or be a superstar
The privilege of a lifetime is just being who you are

The chances that any of us are alive to tell the tale are improbable beyond belief.
From a single cell organism that developed over millions of years into a pondlife and thence to a reptile, thereafter a mammal and finally to us, without any of our ancestors getting squashed, eaten, starving, or being killed by any number of ways before giving birth to its next generation is incalculably remote.
Nice poem, OZ.
