Shortages
Ukraine is running out of fuel,
food, water, medicines,
humanitarian corridors,
safe havens. It still has
bravery and defiance,
teenage boys scared
but willing to join the fight.
Putin has long run out
of sense and humanity.
He's still pumped up by
his supply of steroids
as he reduces villages,
towns, cities to rubble,
murders fleeing civilians,
bombs hospitals.
We are fine here,
on our island,
for now, apart from
running out of words.

Whatever the outcome of this horrid war, which does seem inevitable as the West are reluctant to call his bluff and push him back into Russia. I sincerely hope all the sanctions and financial restrictions imposed upon Putin's regime/financial backers are not lifted in an eventual fait-a-compli arrangement due to power and fuel.
Personally, we've already begun reassessing our usage, costs, habits and are prepared to undergo some disruption to our comfortable lives in order to free ourselves from reliance on Eastern European power. The time is right! Time to stand on our own two feet. Reminds me of something else!
