College years
The first years’ gossip
In hushed voices.
Eyes downcast,
Quick looks, darting glances!
The second years are louder now,
They are settled into the building.
Having survived the gruelling first year,
The “senior" card they are wielding.
The third years' come to burst the bubble,
Displaying their clout!
The teachers are now friends,
Helping them in doubt!
The fourth years’ are seldom seen,
Only their escapades passed on
They are the shining jewels,
The becon of bright future, a glowing dawn.
The faculty look and oversee
The students over the years.
Their investment, their toil,
Moving and succeeding in new pastures.
Oh! The joy they feel,
When they recognize them.
Even after the graduation is done
And studying is done and dusted.
Just like the students, the teachers
Enjoy college years.
Memories of the carefree corridors,
Brings in happy tears!
