My British human child lives in Oregon

Where she practices her Ameriglish on a daily basis.

Quite convincingly so.

 

My West German pottery children live in Wales

Where they practice being beautiful on a daily basis.

Also convincingly.

 

My human child doesn’t need to practice being beautiful

She perfected that art on the day she arrived.

 

But my West German pottery children are still scarred by annexation.

They’re imprinted with ‘Made In West Germany’.

There’s just no escaping it.

Sang his little heart out as the wall came down,

My West German pottery children were thrilled.

 

With his curly perm and *too tight* jeans,

And he was.
