Morning Dew

entry picture

The woody petrichor

tingles my nose

as she brings me coffee

under the dimming lights

of a pergola

The rain has calmed the air

And the dawn starts to crack the clouds

with shards of yawning sunlight

She smiles

Her eyes twinkle like morning dew

I watch her saunter away

And take a hot, comforting sip

of coffee

Yes, great song, John. I always liked Nazareth's version of it 🤘

I thought your poem an altogether more optimistic take than the apocalyptic “Morning Dew” I was familiar with from my youth. (You may not be old enough to recall it).
