I Say

I think it's wonderful that

some people are minimalists.

I think it's great that

some people only keep items that give them joy.

If I lived by myself

that would be me--

I assure you my tabletops

would be clear

except for a little vase of flowers,

and there would be lots

of open space.

But, alas, I live with people,

a good number of people,

with lots of things

and nary an empty tabletop

and nary an empty corner.

I love these people.

So I have become a

maximalist.

Bring on the clutter I say,

pile it up,

who cares I say.

I have decided to be happy. Come on in, find a spot to sit (feel free to toss things on the floor!),

I will brew you a cup of tea,

and God bless this mess.

And that is all I have to say about that.
