***Hope***

I was once at a gig in Las Vegas-
When I witnessed something truly heinous.

Two men in front were chatting
But the younger man himself was batting-

For *the young*,
He was so strung-
Out on the idea that the second man
Had the damn
Nerve to be at a Nine Inch Nails gig
While wearing a long grey wig!! (??).

Turned out it was the older guys ACTUAL HAIR-
But that didn't stop the stares,
Since the younger guy (who wasn't known to him)-
Loudly told him he was 'too old' to be present!!
And that yes he DID RESENT HIS PRESCENCE!!
Here at this Nine Inch Nails gig
In his grey non-wig.

Older guy did a wry
Smile
And in relaxed tone (with zero groans)
Told him: 'Son? I've been seeing live bands-
Since before you were bouncing on your Grans
Knee.

The band played
Mr Grey-Hair stayed
Where he was
Because
Music is for all-
Old, young, short, tall,
Thin, curvy, quiet, wordy.
Me, you, him, who.

And to the young man who tried to embarrass-
Debase and harass?
He's now 10 years older, 
Possibly even colder (??), 
Than he was before, attitude wise-
But perhaps not.
Perhaps he's finally got
It.

One can only hope.
