GREGGS VOUCHERS

I never part with money

To mendicants I meet

Who shelter in shop doorways

Along the city streets.

I fear they wouldn’t  spend it

In escaping from the rain

But rather on White Cider

Or a hit of crack cocaine.

But happily I’ll shell out for

A homeless man who begs

On a voucher for a meal and drink

That you can buy from Greggs.

You might not like what I won’t do

That’s your choice to deride

But ownership of this is mine –

It’s my right to decide.

So if you see near Christmas time

A homeless man who begs

Why not spare a quid or two

On a voucher bought at Greggs?

Great idea, John. Common sense at its best. (Haven't got any spare, have you?)

Don’t be silly, Bethany; I was joking with you. (But if I have to explain that, it probably wasn’t a very good joke). Please feel free to comment on any of my stuff whether you like it or not.

Good morning, John, sorry matey but I wasn't criticising you
in fact, I was amazed by and praising the person who had used their brain for coming up with the idea

and I actually repeat my thanking of you for bringing this idea to everyone's notice 👍

me criticise you!? I would let myself be forced into having Matt Hancock's baby as a punishment if I ever did that! 😆

Do you know, Kevin, you can get three Soleros for a couple of quid? And thanks for the Likes, Frederick, Jo and Helene.

Such a kind sentiment. But go steady...a quid or two seems a bit excessive.

Whoa, Bethany! Nobody’s ever accused me of using my brain before! But that’s interesting about Asda; I didn’t know that.

OMG John! don't say somebody is using their brain!?

what a bazzingly simple idea! and 👍 to you for bringing it to our notice, there's nothing like spreading the good word(s)
maybe this idea could be used in other ways, I think it could.

Has everyone on here also heard of Asdas one quid meal?
soup, a roll, and a brew-apparently it's yummy!

I've never heard of this scheme; sounds like an excellent idea.
I'll check it out.
