Popcorn Ceiling

Staring at this

popcorn ceiling

thought Iā€™d be

higher somehow

I follow the patterns

its lunar surfaces

feel too familiar

to me now

as you push down

the weight of your body

I feel weightless

in your warmth

gazing at the night

sky filling around me

alone together

in this dark

painting around

this popcorn ceiling

apartment lights

like distant stars

surrounded by

hundreds of stories

only mine

stands out now
