What is this Curse Called Talent?

 

     It is not my place to wonder if an extension for such voice,

  But I do wonder of those in whose creative purpose -

        leads to bereavement, surely it must as

     the greats pass on, or is it, by?

 

     It must be for such a voice – a woeful gift at best,

   there are those want that personal mint and, looks are just an aside,

          still,

   a voice box, a hyoid containing forty-two bones

       that can sweep like a concert of violins,

          like the purest of sine an instrument known moog – boasts;-

   perhaps a rarity even more than Goldilocks Zones of Life, itself.

 

     Our hybrid being -

our tortured constant quarrel of why and not ‘live,’

   really very outstanding in capability must make

our architects weep, just such a limited time…………?

 

     There might though, be an extension of stay -

near incisive tools of executive decisions,

        there might be a hint of what can be

     a further of purpose beyond excuse of exigencies -

   a fifth dimension requests,

as obvious it is that artists are driven to perform

     these hypnotic ‘wants,’

          ‘are they given the full contract in words of understanding,

                  or is choice no longer brokered once the gift is heard?’

 

     ‘what is more, dare you sing at all if the truth reveals

             forever contracts that no longer have you sing but, scream???’
