A trusting relationship

is worth all the gold in the world.

If I trust your love,

I want to please you,

not because I am afraid of you

or because I feel guilty,

but because I want to make you happy

& myself happy too.

So, in our relationships, we can build the blocks of trust,

little by little,

day by day,

with our steadfast presence & caring.

And if life's traumas ever cause us to go astray

& knock down our carefully-arranged stack of love-filled building blocks,

well, we can trust that we will suffer, but that's okay,

just like a disappointed child whose play construction has collapsed,

we will cry,

but then, by & by on a new day,

we will pick up the pieces

& start anew.
