A good deed is a good deed, not a favour
Random acts of kindness, and charitable schemes
Brings inner warmth that bolsters self-esteem
Embraced in the comforting arms of selflessness
Discard ego, when virtue is the emphasis
Don't yearn for an ovation, no self-serving aim
When goodness blooms, those less fortunate gain,
In those moments of compassion, we truly see,
The epitome of man's bred humanity.
In the tapestry of life, let love be our thread,
No repayment sought, just goodwill instead.
Don't pursue validation, don't garner applause
Benevolence should be our just reward
No credit is beholden, it gratifies us
that if a job's done well, it should satisfy us.
So why, like a fool, yearn praise or recognition
When engendered smiles are our soul's true nutrition
