Soliloquy under Tuesday Moonlight

I can feel myself spiralling, this immense sadness bubbling inside me. I know it's an unfortunate side effect of my PMDD, self diagnosed- yes but what's a girl to do when her GP dismisses her. I feel like life is so easy for everyone else but I'm sitting on the precipice with this huge weight on my shoulders. Not knowing whether to sink or swim, life feels so heavy, feeling sad is the only constant in my life. My oldest and most loyal friend, creeping in to corrupt moments when I feel light, dare I say it - happy!

Hearing of Angus Cloud's death put things in perspective for me, life is fleeting, one minute we're here, the next, poof! gone. Death isn't always a slow burner that graciously gives us time to say goodbye to the ones we love, it often creeps up on us like a thief in the night, snatching our last breath with no-one to hold our hand or sing us lullabies as we slip away into the nothingness of the afterlife.

So, say all the things you're too afraid to say to the ones you love. Take a deep breath and you'll find the words will not evade you this time. Be brave, don't hold back that big raucous infectious laugh that fills even the biggest rooms like a sweet scent diffusing slowly into the deepest and darkest corners. Smile, do it often, even when no-one is watching. Don't apologise for your imperfections- in fact wear them proudly like a badge of honour. For this world is yours for the taking but only if you will it so!

@Hélène Exactly, I guess it was my way of summing up the human experience through my own. Thank you 😃

Sadness followed by determination and appreciation. Well said, Grace.
