The Walk.

You weave your roots

Around my veins

Yet I don’t even know

Your name

We stand silently together

In the rain

Nature gave us both

A crown

Equal in weight

You shed yours

With the seasons

I wear mine

Unaware

Of any reason

Sssh … did you hear the

Bumble bee?

There is mud

Sticking

To our feet

How lucky that

We had this chance

To meet

Had I walked

The other way

I wonder

Where

We would be

Today

We might have

Missed

The sobbing clouds

Our eyes

Would still

Be

Dry

And what of

The river bed?

Without our love

Would it

Just

Die?

When I was

Pulled

From Gaia

Did the universe

Let out a sigh?

Did the moon

Grow

Bigger, brighter, higher?

Did the stars

Shiver

And fall helplessly

From the night sky?

Am I just another

Leaf

Or

A remnant

Of a bewildered star?

I wonder

Pretty flower

Do you

Ever

Question

Who

You

Are?

Thanks Clare, that's lovely...I'm off now to talk to the trees-good therapy.

I love this one Clare, so many great lines. I particularly enjoyed the opening verse and this:

"We might have
Missed
The sobbing clouds"
