FEAR IN A HANDFUL OF DUST

Oh, the vastness of emotions hid deep within,
The edgeless landscape where words cannot begin,
To echo the depths of each mood’s sway,
In the ebb and flow of life’s uncertain play.
Grief, a tingling numbness, so hard to define,
A heavy burden that weighs on my mind,
Its depths impossible to convey,
Its presence felt more strongly with each passing day.
Depression, a semi-detached daze, so profound,
A clouded state where solace is not easily found,
Close in upon oneself, tight and confined,
With tears waiting, to flow like wine.
Fear, a constant companion in my life’s quest,
Winding like the Mississippi in its deep unrest,
It lingers, meandering through each thought and deed,
Taking years to rise and flood, making me bleed.
But fear not, for amidst these trials we face,
There’s strength within us to embrace,
To gather all our fragmented selves with grace,
And rise above the darkness with a passionate embrace.
Our journey may be fraught with pain and strife,
But we find resilience to truly come alive,
For within us lies a greatness that will unfold,
A power to conquer cowardice, a story yet untold.

Thanks John.
In "The edgeless landscape where words cannot begin,
To echo the depths of each mood’s sway," ....I glimpse aspects of my own struggles with fear and uncertainty.
Nelson Mandela was right.
