Our Journey
Let's escape our separate towns together,
Away from prying eyes,
Where no one knows our faces yet,
And our love needs no disguise.
Let's camp out in the world together,
And I'll hold you through the night,
With your head upon my shoulder,
We sit watching stars burn bright.
We'll laugh and smile discussing hopes and dreams,
And make known all of our desires,
We'll own nothing more than what we need,
And our love, it now transpires.
Once the darkness fades and sunlight grows,
A sunrise fills the sky,
We'll learn what we're really here for,
A connection that neither can deny.
This journey will be arduous and scary,
A feat that many won't understand,
But I have never been more certain,
Than when your palm rests in my hand.

Some great lines in this piece, Becky.. Reminds me of the style of my last poetry book 'Changing Carriages at Birmingham New Street' with the sad, reflective nature here - particularly like the first two stanzas.. this style suits you well I think. You should write more like this (:
