Just Curious.

How can a heart be so full

Yet still have space for more?

And what of the busy mind -

How come it can keep on learning ~

It’s an eternal revolving door

How can the feelings I have

Be so deep ~

Surely I shouldn’t keep falling

Why do the birds keep on singing ~

Are they constantly writing new songs ~

Purely to make my eyes weep

Does the sun ever tire of life ~

Will you take me for your wife?

I’m thinking we should paint the living room

Green ~

But I know you prefer

Aquamarine

Does the moon begrudge the stars?

Do butterflies come from Mars ~

I guess that’s a little too far

I am so glad you are

Who you are

Shall we go for a drive

In your shiny new car!

We could stop off

At our favourite bar

I guess what I’m trying to say

In a crazy roundabout way

You make me feel

Like a curious child

And you

Are the answer

To all my whys

You are the person

That drives my mind

Wild.

Such an admirable poem, Clare. It took me on a journey. I feel better for having read it.
