Elegance, on the 10:54
Initially, our train carriage, devoid,
Lacking something,
Something
we were unaware
was a something to be lacked
Then you,
glided from the platform,
majestically
This onward journey, our onward time
Slowed
in silent motion.
You cat-walked
down the central aisle,
A model vision,
Men’s hearts skipped.
jealous women sneered,
But all eyes opened wide,
followed your every movement,
Analysed your every breath.
Your black skin,
The colour of obsidian
with jewel-like undertones,
glistened,
shimmered,
like spot-lit black silken satin.
A frilled black flowing skirt,
Ruched,
Oozed unintentional sex appeal.
Shiny black skin-hugging blouse,
With a short black leather jacket
casually adorned
Long supple neck
draped exquisitely in silvered beads,
That complimented silvered bangles
on sylphlike wrists.
Black low-heeled shoes
Perched confidently
on long thin moistured legs.
Small black spectacles,
Accentuated,
highlighted,
your dark, inquisitive eyes.
Nails, naturally coloured,
terminated those long slender fingers
A small fine chignon
restricted straggled hair interloping
into the radiance of beauty
Made more precious by a pearl-like smile
This viewer, drawn,
Further still
Appreciating,
Appreciating your finer points.
But then!
The tannoy breaks this moment
announcing the soon-to-be-arriving station,
Your station,
You’ve gone.
So quickly
We have lost
That something.
Something we’re aware
we initially lacked.
your…….
