Teenage sadness needs parental aid
Everyone get's sad now and then,
But extremely difficult to predict when.
"I do a good job of hiding my sadness from mum and dad,
It can switch anytime, trouble free one can still get sad."
When sadness holds you firmly in it's grip,
Into the hearts of your parents you must trip.
They can lower a rope and pull you out ,
Knowing what your going through and sort things out.
When sadness clouds your outlook on life,
And bad thoughts in your brain are running rife.
Organise the mental clutter accumulating in your brain,
Writing about it can flush your worries down the drain.
Whether your sadness is caused by depression or not,
When crushed in spirit your parents you've got.
Trust in your family's protective and loving gauze,
They will decide if your sadness has a medical cause

It's a worthy cause, Hugh.
I think so many people who are parents today never had their own experiences as teens validated by adults and therefore need guidance on how to handle young people who are experiencing their first awakenings to the truth behind the world around them.
Maybe if we, as adults, see ourselves more as temporary shepherds than entitled rulers, they will come to trust us more.
