Prove it.......

Prove It ........

We must seek in order to find,

with a perceptive mind.

I am often assailed by others,

when I talk about the Other.

People are often filled with doubt,

then they shout.

Prove to me there is a God,

not knowing that the answer lies in Faith.

Not many are born with a sense of the numinous,

few are taught by teachers with wisdom.

Most are daunted and give up the ghost,

and they are the ones who are lost.

The Holy Qur'an says,

Which ever way you turn,

there is the face of God.

Saint Ignatius of Loyola proclaimed that,

God is in all things.

He is immanent

he is Omniscient

He is Omnipresent

He is Omnipotent.

Life and living creation are real and alive,

as are we to all about us.

The seasons, the oceans, rain and sun,

are evidence of a life generated by the Other,

and not by we ourselves.

We find Him in others,

In what they say, their personalties.

their habits and beliefs.

He speaks to us through them,

He speaks endlessly.

All we need do is to look and listen .

We are entering the Spiritual Realm,

in this hallowed space we are called,

to be perceptive and trust,

with a spirit of discernment.

Graham,
Thank you. I agree that most people try to be good. This very intention is the pathway to eternity. With or without a Faith people gravitate toward this belief that our personal futures are accountable. We can only do our best and trust that it is pleasing and sufficient for an eternal reward. I cannot speak for God but maybe we shall see one another in the world to come as we have established a good friendship in the here and now.
Thanks again,
Keith

Thank you Keith. Rather clumsily put on my part but I guess what I mean is I try to be good. I've never consciously hurt anyone and give help in times of need. Whether I'm judged (if, as I am bound to say, there is a judge) fit for a hereafter, then so be it. I would however, never ridicule anyones' faith and I celebrate yours!

Graham,
Thank you for your comment. I think you do not understand the concept of faith. It is not the same as faithful. Might I point you to an accurate definition of Faith in the book of Hebrews Chapter 11:1-16. It is because we possess no evidence of an after life that we tend not to believe in it. Too some extent I understand this as we require proof and without it we tend discard anything not properly understood. Do you have an alternative? Or is death the final act after which nothing is of any consequence?
Ticks and crosses! From where did this come? Accountability I beleive will be a part of eternity and I should imagine that with a merciful and compassionate God you will be with your family and in a far better place.
Thank you for taking the time to reading this poem and commenting on it,
Keith

If I am totally wrong and there is a happy hereafter (whatever that is likely to look like) I hope I have many more ticks on my slate than crosses. Compared to some self-titled religious people I know, I brush up rather well I think!

Faith is family and friends.
