The Lighthouse Keeper's Lament

entry picture

In the depths of my soul, a battle rages
Between the light and the dark, not written on pages
Deception creeps in, a constant war within
Yet I find strength to help, to heal, to even win

Carrying others' weight, ignoring my own
At what cost, I wonder, am I overthrown?

But still, I stand tall like a lighthouse beacon
Guiding lost ships through storms, hearts so weakened
My own turmoil, a silent, relentless choir
Yet through it all, I keep fueling the fire

The struggle within, an unending fight
To find peace, to believe, to see the light
With every step forward, doubts cling and squirm
Yet in the darkness, I find strength to affirm
