Marvelous

We know everything vibrates,

molecules dancing around even in the firmest of objects.

How then can our eyes see only the solid?

That rock,  that table, the earth beneath our feet--

wild, intelligent movement going on within,

but absolutely beyond our plain-eyed perception.

But then, every once in a while, as if an interior microscope lights up,

there it is--

the dance of the universe,

just a glimpse,

just enough to remind us--

everything lives,

everything moves,

and we are a humble, joyous part of this marvelous whirlwind of creation.

Beautifully written, Helen. I can see that words mean something to you, as they do to me.

The wonders of nature are prevalent in a child's eye, every thought is prefaced with the word, Why. Once the young people start to get a handle on this amazing world, then the fun starts.
Lovely words

Helene,
This poem highlights the indisputable fact that the earth is alive and developing as do we ourselves. A lot to think about here.
Thanks for this,
Keith

This poem is dedicated to a friend's 2-year-old grandkid, who found a little chunk of concrete while travelling in Europe with his family, and kept the "rock" with him everywhere, even while sleeping.
