A World To Trust

Trusting the cornerstone

With a fickle grasp

A foundation to settle

I hope that it lasts

Trusting the trees to stay put

And the carriage ride runs smoothly,

Hoping the weather stays sunny

When my friends come round for tea

Trusting in the process,

Of an early relationship with a rocky start

That the stream runs through peacefully

With no injury to the heart

Trusting that my bones don’t break,

Nor do they tear or crumble,

That I wake up alive,

With no dread, fear, nor grumble

Trusting in the peace of the world,

Of wars ending, and reaching an agreement

No more rain, no more sadness,

For everyday to end with achievement

It’s hard for one to remember,

The importance of trust,

When the world seems to betray us,

And our hopes have been crushed

Yet, somewhere on this earth,

The sun is beginning to shine,

To remind us of that small hope,

That everything will be fine.

Fantastic Esme, the last two verses ended things perfectly.

Loved it!
