The Lamp of Lithon
This tired man had left the world behind.
He was gifted a lamp, one of its kind.
It dated back to the very dawn of time.
The Lamp of Lithon, with its unique shine.
In the library late one lonely night.
The room was bathed in a mystical light.
No flicker, no shadow just a perfect glow.
As the Lamp of Lithon, put on a show.
The walls of books became a screen.
As the lamp portrayed an amazing scene.
A time before lands were conquered or sold.
Was this man watching magical unfold?
Now amazed he saw before his eyes.
Landscapes of beauty with cloudless skies.
Scenes of nature in an untouched world
A crystal clear water world, he saw unfurled.
The scene offered itself like an open door.
An invitation back to those days of yore?
What was this magic, what did it all mean?
The man simply dismissed it all as a dream.
That night he wrote of what he just saw.
Of this beautiful Earth, unscarred and raw.
And in his mind his with a very strange ease.
He gave names to ancient lands and seas.
The years passed by, his health declined.
The Lamp of Lithon was on his mind.
Was it a dream that night many years ago?
Could the lamp be magic and put on a show?
So he lit the lamp again with an open mind.
He wanted to believe, magic he would find.
I was that man, and yes magic came to me.
I was born again in a better world, forever free.
A second chance I was given on that night.
Given by the Lamp of Lithon’s magical light.
The Lamp of Lithon… with its ancient beams.
Making true the wishes of its believer’s dreams.
