The fairytale
Do you remember the fairytale you told me?
Nothing else mattered when you read it line by line
For I was in love with the story, you read about a time
A few chapters down the line, we'd still be together
You looked me in the eyes as you said "forever"
Promised me this book is the only one you need
You forgot to mention that you didn't really mean it
So engulfed in the stories I didn't even see it
I had fallen deeply in between the pages
Meanwhile for you, this was merely entertainment
Sifting through the lines and the lies
Made it all the way to the bind,
It got dark and I realised I was blind
In the meantime you grew tired of this tale
Stuck in the covers I sat upon your shelf
I lost my place, I lost myself
But you always hated clutter, I guess it makes sense
That you'd throw me away
Without hesitance..
