21st Century family values
My grandfather was a paedophile
but otherwise he was great,
always there to meet me
at the school yard gate.
He often seemed distracted
I never quite new why,
he had a funny look
in his evil little eye.
He killed my cat one Christmas
I never could forgive,
So I vowed myself to vengeance
that he should cease to live.
He wallowed in his cancer
when he was grey and old,
so like any vengeful chancer
whose morals had run cold...
I stretched a fucking pillow
across his crooked twisted face
and whispered "that's for Willow"
you fucking sad disgrace.
My Grandfather was not a paedophile, neither did he kill my cat. Yes, the subjects of this scribble are unpleasant. I have noticed how in this age it has become evermore the case that perpetrators of crimes and immoral acts excuse their actions by quoting the behaviour of others in the hope of distracting from their own. The above is an extreme example, but declarations such as shooting people on 5th Ave and being absolved of it are an indication of how we humans willingly indulge evils if they benefit us or we admire the wrongdoer. Of course not all of us surrender to these notions but many do.

Thanks for the likes and for your comment on this.
I now want to write something far from this subject...unfortunately I am not always master of my wandering thoughts. I'll do my best.
I'm off to the High Wilds of Scotland and the Islands soon, that said I rarely write in-situ, just soak it up for later it seems.
