Limerick (To Whoo It May Concern)

entry picture

Whilst thinking about family holidaying in Corfu, I composed this in my head whilst sleepless, early today, On completing it, it occurred to me that birds have an ability to copy all kinds of human generated sounds, including car alarms, and human voices etc. The sound track includes the female contact call, and male response of a Tawny Owl.

Limerick (To Whoo It May Concern)

The owls on the isle of Corfu

Don’t reply to their mates with “Too-Whoo”,

But on hearing “Too-Whits”,

They copy the Brits,

Responding with “How-Doo-You-Doo!”.
